About Me Page – Shipping Information

If you have a standard method of shipping, indicate how each item is packed and shipped, whether insurance is offered as a standard feature or an option, and the typical time it takes for items to arrive to successful bidders. If you include handling charges as a part of your auction, be sure to tell bidders that these are included in the shipping costs for the auction.

Here’s an example of what you might include in the Shipping section of your About Me Page:

SHIPPING AND HANDLING (Postage Costs)

Back to Top of Page

I like to use Priority Mail. It’s cheaper than UPS & FED-X and gets stuff there plenty fast. In some cases the Auction listing will allow other methods of shipment, but generally they will be through the US Postal Service.

There is generally a Handling Charge associated with each auction. It’s 22 miles to the Post Office round trip, and then there are generally packing materials. I keep these costs low, but they will show up as a part of the Postage total.

CALCULATING YOUR SHIPPING & HANDLING COSTS

EBay has this great tool that will allow you to calculate your exact shipping and handling costs. When possible, I set up all auctions to use this tool unless the item is large and will require special packing and transport. In this case, contact me and I’ll try to provide an estimate of the cost of packing and shipping.

SHIPPING OF YOUR ITEM

Your item will generally ship the next business day following payment. In some instances, this is not possible, however, you will always receive an email from me indicating that you items is about to ship or has shipped.

YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS

We only ship to a street address and cannot ship to PO boxes, APO, or FPO addresses.
