You’re probably thinking, “Why should I register my business? I’m just selling a few items on eBay to test the waters. Is this really necessary?”
Let’s consider the facts. First you are interested in starting a business. If you’ve made it all the way to this Step and executed all of the essentials up to this point, then you’re serious about success. You no longer just want to see the success of others; you want to experience it up close and personal. This is a business and we’re here to make money, not just test the waters and see what we can do. Given that this is a real business, you need to do the things that real businesses do. Why? If you don’t, it WILL come back to haunt you down the road. Whether it be you city, stare or Uncle Sam in the form of the IRS, you’ll be wishing you had executed these simple essentials, as well as things like proper accounting and payment of taxes. So shrug it off and let’s see what’s necessary to keep us out of trouble.
