Every year Christian Family Services in Overland Park, KS has a benefit auction. The auction consists of a silent auction where you walk around and write a bid on a piece of paper next to the item being auctioned, and a live auction. You never know what items are going to be available at these auctions since all are donations by individuals and local organizations to help CFS raise money. I have personally seen 50 yard line Pro Football tickets, autographed footballs (Pro teams), paintings, Hallmark collectables and antique linens, as well as crafts, food items, lake property, tools, etc. Since it is a charity auction, people have a tendency to bid at a higher than normal price for the items in the live auction, however, the silent auction always yields some deals. The live auction is always fun and it’s great to see people supporting a worthwhile organization. Bottom line, it’s a super way for you to find items for resell, and help out a local cause.
